Gate introduces the industry’s first copy trading feature for stocks, reshaping professional strategy sharing and the global stock investment experience
Gate Officially Launches Stock Copy Trading Feature, becoming one of the first crypto platforms globally to support copy trading for stocks. This feature applies the mature copy trading model to the stock market for the first time. Users no longer need to research complex trading strategies on their own. After updating the Gate App to version V8.29.0, they can follow professional traders with one click and participate in investments across US stocks, Hong Kong stocks, Korean stocks, and all categories of ETFs, further lowering the barrier for users to build a global portfolio of stock assets.
In terms of product functionality, users can enter the stock copy trading section to view key data indicators such as traders’ profit performance, historical drawdowns, and the number of followers, allowing them to select a suitable lead trader based on their own investment preferences. The system uses a proportional replication mechanism, dynamically calculating positions based on the available assets ratio between the copying user and the lead trader, achieving a high degree of replication of the trader’s stock holdings. It supports synchronous execution of operations including buying, partial selling, and full position selling.
Gate Stock Copy Trading supports fractional share trading, allowing users to start building positions with a minimum of 0.01 shares, lowering the entry barrier for high-value stock assets. Regardless of capital size, users can participate in investing in popular stocks like Apple, NVIDIA, Tencent, and Samsung through proportional copy trading. The product supports 24/7 operation, unrestricted by traditional stock market opening and closing hours, enabling users to manage their global stock investment strategies with greater flexibility.
In terms of the profit mechanism, Gate Stock Copy Trading adopts the High-Water Mark (HWM) profit-sharing model. Profit sharing is triggered only when the user’s cumulative net profit exceeds the historical peak level. During periods of loss, the lead trader earns no profit share. They must first help the user recover losses and generate new profits before they can benefit again. Qualified professional traders can apply to become stock lead traders, earning up to a 10% profit share by sharing their trading strategies. The platform facilitates the release of trading strategy value through data display, strategy management, and user connection mechanisms, aligning the long-term interests of lead traders and copy traders.
Furthermore, the Gate stock trading system is integrated with the platform’s VIP fee structure. Users whose holdings reach the corresponding level can enjoy exclusive trading fees and VIP service benefits, further optimizing the trading experience for high-frequency traders and long-term investors.
Currently, Gate has established a comprehensive trading system covering global stock markets, supporting over 12,500 stock and ETF trading instruments, including more than 10,000 US stocks and ETFs, over 1,500 Hong Kong stocks, and over 1,000 Korean stocks. Leveraging a unified account system, users can engage in global stock investments in a one-stop manner using USDT, while enjoying diversified stock services such as fractional share trading, stock dividends, cross-broker transfer of US and Hong Kong stocks, stock splits, and reverse stock splits.
The launch of the stock copy trading feature further strengthens Gate’s multi-asset ecosystem layout, extending from asset trading to investment services. As global investment demand trends towards multi-market, multi-asset directions, Gate continues to promote the integration of traditional financial assets with the Web3 trading ecosystem by combining market connectivity, professional trading strategies, and intelligent investment tools. Looking ahead, Gate will continue to expand its multi-market service capabilities, focusing on the global asset allocation needs of users, to provide a more open, efficient, and intelligent one-stop investment experience.
