Anoma is an intent-centric privacy architecture and a distributed operating system (DOS) designed for decentralized applications.
It is not a traditional L1, L2, or bridge, but a higher-level abstraction layer that turns existing blockchains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, etc.) into configurable resources. Applications can be built once and run across any chain where Anoma is deployed, with native support for intents and programmable privacy.
Core innovation: It introduces generalized intents, decentralized counterparty discovery, and solving primitives. This enables previously Web2.5 dApps (such as rollups, DEXs, NFT marketplaces, and public goods funding platforms like Gitcoin) to become fully end-to-end decentralized, while preserving usability and strong privacy.
The core engine is the Anoma Resource Machine (ARM), deployed via Protocol Adapters on existing chains. It is already live on multiple EVM chains, with the flagship application AnomaPay supporting shielded payments of any asset.
The native token is XAN, used for ecosystem coordination and governance.
