Spelling bees are popular in American culture, being featured in many books and movies. There is a spelling bee for adults called the National Senior Spelling Bee held in Wyoming and sponsored by the Wyoming AARP. Spelling bees became popular in the 1800s largely because of Noah Webster’s spelling books. They are still a great way to have fun and to learn today. |
